Speak Up, Dammit!

If you're a politician in Canada and you believe that every Canadian girl/woman should have access to publicly funded abortion services then you need to speak up. You have the privilege of a voice. Use it. And please, adding in the belief that you're personally opposed to abortion is not only irrelevant, but you're fooling yourself and betraying all those girls and women who have made the choice to terminate an unwanted pregnancy by pretending to have superior morals to them.

You don't. Having religious beliefs does not make you morally superior. Oh boy does it not make you morally superior. In fact, having religious beliefs seems to mean defending the right of religious organizations to discriminate against female and LGBTQ citizens, which is objectively morally wrong.

There's only one reasonable position to have on the right of every Canadian girl/woman to terminate an unwanted pregnancy via a publicly funded healthcare provider, which is that you support it. As long as boys and men can impregnate women but not be impregnated themselves, anything less than ensuring the right of girls and women to terminate that pregnancy is discrimination based on sex and a violation of a person's right to not reproduce on behalf of the state.

Well you're the state, sisters and brothers. Stop letting anti-choice politicians and pundits terrorize Canadian girls and women with the threat of abortion re-criminalization.

Speak up, dammit!

Ew

That's all, really. I had no idea Mike Pence was coming to Ottawa until he was here, because I haven't been paying attention, and now I just want him to fuck off back to the U.S.

Closeted Conservative politicians are the creepiest politicians.

Answer Me These Riddles Three

It was nice to hear from the Saviour of the Free World, Robert Mueller III, today, wasn't it?

Cripes, imagine being Robert Mueller III for the past two years. I mean, pressure much? You'd think he'd want to be cased in armour, too.

But if I was Robert Mueller III I think I'd have left us puzzling a little bit more:

"Let me sum up my report for you by paraphrasing the Good Witch, Glinda, to Dorothy in Oz, re tapping her red shoes together three times to get home to Kansas: "You've always had the power to get home, my dear, you just had to learn it by paying me to write a report to remind you that we have a democratic method for dealing with treasonous piece of shit criminals who get 'elected' POTUS."

Is it my lying eyes or did he look irked to be having to speak out loud into a microphone at a podium in Washington with every sentient being from everywhere across the world parsing his every word.

How either arrogant or modest is that, eh?

But imagine being Robert Mueller III in the 80s, all lantern jawed law and order Vietnam War hero, while Donald Trump, treasonous piece of shit criminal, is being glamorized on the nightly news.

That must have irked him some, eh?

Full disclosure: I've always had a vague awareness that Donald Trump existed but I had no idea, he's Don Cherry - but worse.

Not as bad?

Jesus. Can you imagine if Don Cherry was Prime Minister while Doug Ford is being Premier of Ontario and Donald Trump is being POTUS?

Count your fucking blessings, Dippers and Greens!

Which reminds me, -isn't it nice we can all console ourselves with the knowledge, as imparted to us by our socialist and libertarian bros betters, that Hillary would have been worse...

Life, Take Eleventy Seven Hundred and Two

This is day two of not logging on to the internet when I first get up in the morning. I just now checked my email, and although there was something there that on first reading seemed in urgent need of a response, I decided on second reading that, not only was it not in urgent need of response, it wasn't even my place to respond to it.

So I'll wait my turn. It's a thing working-for-money people do to other working-for-money and not working-for-money people alike, assign us work from their to do list in hopes that we'll not do that second reading and realize, wait, do I work for you? No, no I don't. In fact, I think you actually work for me, so, hm, let me go make some lunch and check back tomorrow to see what's what. Maybe.

My goodness email is bossy, eh?

Before that I read some more of Lord of the Rings, my current project now that I've read all five Game of Thrones (skimming whole swaths of certain character's stories because jesu christo enough already). I'm three hundred and fifty pages in to The Fellowship of the Ring and it has finally become somewhat interesting. We'll see. I do find it pleasurable enough, it's like being a kid again, how Tolkien sets the reader in the scene, but I doubt more than a handful of kids today could endure to Gandalf's story that leads to Frodo stepping up to deal with the ring.

I also read about the Winnipeg Strike, which was in the Saturday Globe. Also, some week old columns about our government's foreign policy gaps and faux pas, gaps and faux pas that trace back to the previous government's kamikaze ideology, and some business articles.

I almost have a fear, I think, of understanding how money works in this country. I don't know why that is but I really do resist understanding stock markets and takeovers and start-ups and so on and so forth and more of the same etc etc.

Anyway, on tap for today, I think, is making roman blinds and prepping some walls for painting - assuming I don't check out what's happening online and fall down a rabbit hole or two. It's a challenge but I need to figure out how to keep the screen front and center so that I don't forget it's there. Some of you know exactly what I mean by that. If you don't, count yourself a lucky well-adjusted person.

Er, Update

Well, I guess I'm not a REAL political forecaster, am I, because Jody and Jane are running as Independents in the next election and not as Greens, as I forecast in "And Then We Riot" yesterday.

Who knew they both wanted to do politics differently by not being part of a team?

Oh yeah, anybody who's been paying attention.

My bad.

But as luck would have it this is good timing, being wrong, because I've been wanting to step back from commenting on politics for years now, and I think I might finally be bored enough to do it.

It's the arguing at people with whom I more or less agree that's done me in.

Also, the other night I had a dream that I was in the Sault. It was evening and I was out for a walk when I decided to surprise my mother at her nursing home with a visit. But partway there I remembered she was dead. And although I was relieved by this, because in the back of my mind I was wondering if I should spring her, I also thought, well, so I'll visit another old person at the nursing home. Because it's not like everyone in a nursing home couldn't use a visit by someone from the outside world. So I continued on but when I got there I found I didn't have much to offer by way of news. None of it seemed relevant.

I always thought that one of the hardest things for my mother was being a political person who wasn't online.

Now, of course, I feel like a complete idiot.

Anyway, I shook up my routine today by not going online first thing when I got up to CHECK OUT WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!!!!!!!!! and instead read the Saturday Globe. Well, wouldn't you know that in the Pursuits section was a whole piece by Nathalie Atkinson "Reclaiming Your Time" that made my choice seem like serendipity. And so, yes, here I am online blogging about it because that's news worth sharing - right? That's what I like to read when I go online, tidbits from people about how they're living a better life because of this or that. And I know it's just mid-afternoon on the day of what probably seems to you to be a minor change in routine, but, oh my goodness, what a difference it seems to have made in how I feel.

Quite a while ago now I stopped checking out a couple of places on the internet that I realized weren't doing me any good to check out. And almost immediately they ceased to matter. It was that quick. But then a while ago I strayed from my daily check in with the Americans I follow on the Mueller investigation to check out what was going on with (what I call) the GenJs (Jody, Jane, Justin) and there it was, that same sucking in that is oh so incredibly addictive to some of us. And it's all just toxic nonsense, as I realize now that Jody and Jane, a couple of normal every day politicians, who chose to run for public office as Liberals in the last election, have held press conferences to let us know that they'll be running as Independents in the next one.

Oh. Well. Alright then. Carry on. As you were. Nothing to see here.

So what the hell was I worked up about?!

Somewhere, my mother is laughing.

And Then We Riot

So just did a cruise around Twitter and the gossip looks to be like Jody Wilson-Raybould and her friend Jane Philpott will announce on Monday that they're running for the Green Party in the next federal election.

Anyway, given that Elizabeth May recently stated that Justin Trudeau is more polarizing than Andrew Scheer, I'm going to guess that she's bought in to whatever the two Js are selling - which seems to stem from a personal falling out with JT and subsequent desire to torpedo his career - and believes the Conservatives should replace the Liberals in government with her Green Party playing the role the NDP usually plays.

That would be the "see how right we are you should have voted for us instead of the Liberals, Liberals, and then we'd be the government instead of the Conservatives" role.

I don't know, or care much anymore - people will vote how they will vote - but I note that Elizabeth May's new husband, who looks suspiciously like Sir Anthony Hopkins, is running as a Green Party candidate now, which kind of makes the Green Party even more the Elizabeth May Party than ever. Add in Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott and I guess you could add "and Friends".

So, The Elizabeth May and Husband and Friends Party.

Personally, I lean Green like a mean fighting machine, but politically, I've decided to reward Justin Trudeau's version of the Liberal Party for being unequivocal that it's pro-choice, for making a point of having a gender balanced cabinet and referring to himself both at home and abroad as a Feminist, and for legalizing marijuana and physician assisted dying.

But you can't always get what you want, and if we end up with another federal Conservative Party of Canada government playing politics with our lives, we'll just have to head out into the streets and riot, I guess.

Because that's the thing - there will be nothing else for it.

Get your placards ready.

"And Randy Will Be By Later to Break Your Knees, Okay?"

So I listened to Doug Ford threaten a constituent in a voicemail this morning. It should be shocking but of course it isn't. Kathleen Wynne warned at the outset of the last campaign that he's a bully, but by that time the sexist and racist Sun had been itself bullying her for so long that we all just wanted to look away.

I remember seeing Sun covers in the newspaper box when I'd be waiting for a bus and realizing that nothing had changed with the men (and women!) who own and work for it since they were publishing the names of men caught in bathhouse raids back in the '80s.

Anyway, my guess is that Doug Ford records the phone numbers of callers to be added to a party database for use at a later date and that's why he encourages constituents to call him personally. It's shameful, the bullshit he spews, while party operatives loot and pillage our province.

Anyway, today's Conservatives shouldn't be anywhere near power, but what can we do when Liberals and New Democrats and Greens all run candidates to compete against each other, as if each other is the enemy and not the men (and women!) who just want to get their greasy paws on all that public money.

It's the only reason they run for public office, you know, to get their greasy paws on all that public money. They don't want to govern. Government is in their way. They just want to get their greasy paws on all that public money.

Ixnay on the Incelay

Starting to wonder if we should alert the RCMP about Maxime Bernier. Seems like after losing the Conservative Party nomination to Andrew Scheer he might have become radicalized online.

#WeToldYou

Okay, Canadians, just a heads up that we in Ontario are at the "Who's Worse: Mike Harris? Or Doug Ford" stage.

And Doug Ford is winning.

Even though sister and brother citizens actually died because Mike Harris was Premier.

So, if you didn't like Stephen Harper being Prime Minister of Canada, you know, because of all the lying, cheating, bribery, and fraud - with moralizing about Conservative values on top - my advice is to not elect Andrew Scheer Prime Minister of Canada.

Wave Back

I wasn't going to say anything but what the hell it's just the internet - keep an eye out for men cheer leading Feminists calling out liberal Feminists on abortion.

And why will Feminists be calling out liberal Feminists on abortion?

Well, because liberal Feminists, with regard to abortion, are about protecting the right of the individual female person - in a world run by men - to end an unwanted pregnancy, safely and legally and within our universal healthcare system. But there are certainly other Feminists, Feminists who wouldn't describe themselves as liberal Feminists, who are about representing their communities, communities that have experienced neglect and oppression by our governments, and they don't necessarily share the liberal Feminist position on abortion - for reasons that stem from that neglect and oppression.

I can certainly respect that. I also know that the position I take in public is more nuanced in private, so maybe it's the reverse with Feminists from, for instance, Indigenous communities. I don't know.

(For the record, I take my Feminist cues from Gloria Steinem and my intersectional Feminist Facebook friends, not the racist Famous Five statue on Parliament Hill.)

What I don't respect, and I hope if you're on Twitter you'll call them out for me, is men (and they're pretty much always white political pundits) coattailing on Feminists from those communities to attack liberal Feminists.

Because these men have no shame, they just have it in for liberal Feminists, and so they will use the opportunity to accuse liberal Feminists of being either fake or racist or both, pretending that we do derive our liberal Feminism from the Famous Five and not Gloria Steinem and our intersectional Feminist Facebook friends.

Anyway, I'd say it goes back to Justin Trudeau telling prospective nominees to the Liberal Party to be pro-choice or fuck off to another party, and how certain white political pundits hate him for it, but you probably guessed that already.

Little White Lies

I look at it this way, the bulk of Canadian media, which, years after being taken over by Conrad Black (who just received his pardon for obstruction of justice from Donald Trump) is now owned by and owes billions to an American hedge fund, is there to front for Conservative politicians who want to undo legislative protection against discrimination achieved by decades of Feminist activism, and return us to more sexist and racist times.

It's basically white male Christian supremacy not even bothering to disguise itself lest its supporters feel their odious views are not being properly represented, and yet, the rest of our media is so obsessed with appearing balanced and non-partisan that they pretend to their readers and viewers that it's all just healthy democracy in action.

Uh no. It's not. Or we'd know who funded Stephen Harper's leadership campaign and we don't. We can guess it was the NRA or the Kochs or the Ku Klux Klan but we don't know.

Ever since I was a little girl I've been angry at the media for pretending it is or even can be balanced and non-partisan when it's a product of the same patriarchy that puts the religious beliefs of the dominant group in society before the human and civil rights of anybody and everybody else.

Ferfuckssake it's 2019 and our society is electing legislators who believe there's a word of God and it's in the Bible and it should trump (grr, no pun intended! that demented evil shithead is fucking everywhere thanks to social media!) the human and civil rights of citizens who know better.

Oh never mind me. I'm just tired of having the same old fight. I should probably just give it up and invest in one of those campy Handmaid outfits and park myself on Parliament Hill for the summer.

Tell me they're not made in China.

Scratch that - don't.

Just Say No to Patronizing Old Fuckwits

Dear Sister Feminists: Men who tell you that a Conservative Party of Canada government won't re-open the abortion debate (and then re-criminalize our only recourse for ending an unwanted pregnancy, which is by having a legal and publicly funded abortion) because the previous Conservative Party of Canada government (according to them) didn't try to do just that (over and over and over) need to be told to fuck off.

Just once. Don't belabour it. Then unfriend, unfollow, whatever, just do not engage further with them on any subject. They're patronizing old fuckwits and do not have our backs - period.

Now here's Julie S. Lalonde who gives good counsel on being mindful, should you so choose to be, of the complexity of abortion for many girls and women: Julie S. Lalonde on Twitter

Orange is the Old Black

So I read today that, because Conrad Black was convicted (in the US) of obstructing justice, Donald Trump pardoned him to send a message to the treason weasels of Trump/Russia currently in prison or still cooperating with the FBI or awaiting charges - thanks to the Mueller investigation.

I also read that the Mueller investigation is set to prove that Wikileaks conspired with the GRU (Russian military intelligence) and the Trump campaign conspired with Wikileaks on the hack and release of the Democratic Party's campaign emails.

And since the FBI informed Donald Trump of the connection between Wikileaks and the GRU, the Mueller investigation will prove that the above was done knowingly.

Obstruction of justice.

(Lest we forget, there was also a hack of the Republican Party's campaign emails, which is why Republican politicians appear to be working in the interests of Russian mobsters as opposed to American citizens - because kompromat up the yingyang.)

Finally, none of the people I thought at one time were heroes actually are. Snowden, Assange, Manning, Winner, they were and are all on the wrong side of right.

Oh and P.S. - Nancy Pelosi knows what she's doing so just shut up men who think you know better and go defend the right of girls and women to abort unwanted pregnancies caused 100% of the time by boys and men. Stop leaving all the real work of life to liberal Feminists.

United Crooks of America

So, I read today that Trump and Conrad Black were 50/50 partners in Trump tower, Chicago, and Trump was supposedly about to testify on Black's behalf back in the day when he was convicted and sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison.

Anyway, it makes me wonder if Trump's been an informant for the FBI all these years and that's why he could be a mobster in plain sight of the entire world and yet never run afoul of the law.

It's a kind of justice, I guess, that now he's POTUS and seemingly even more untouchable, while everybody around him dangles in the breeze.

But regarding Conrad Black, who has had a very great fall made softer by his friends in our Conservative media (the owners of which I think should be in jail for their own sketchy wheeling and dealing) I really don't care - do you?

The Age of the Bully

That's where we are now in politics, I think. Bullies are winning elections everywhere because voters love a bully.

It's all about winning. It doesn't matter how. It doesn't matter why. It doesn't matter who.

Madmen

So this is the church that Sam Oosterhoff attends: Father Knows Best

But I know atheist men who believe abortion should be illegal, too.

There are politicians and pundits here in Canada who are obsessed - absolutely obsessed - with re-criminalizing abortion. It's not apparent every time they take to their pulpits, but then, there it is, the latest excuse for a law becomes the latest imperative for a law.

It's madness, the compulsion so many men in the world have to enslave the wombs of women they believe are theirs, who belong to their tribe, whether we want to or not. Because, of course, their real concern is that men from another tribe will outnumber them otherwise. And then what do those men do? Why, take over the world, of course.

No sooner was the Ottawa Citizen bought out by Conrad Black than Ottawans were getting regular updates on the progress being made by the Islamic Menace to enslave us all - thanks to western liberal Feminists.

Yes, that's right - thanks to western liberal Feminists. The successful campaign by Canadian Feminists to have abortion taken out of the criminal code and put into our universal healthcare system was the downfall of our civilization.

Prepare to be boarded by the Islamic Menace.

Look, if any of this had anything to do with reverence for the lives of the unborn these men would have been over in China protesting its mandatory abortion policy.

And they weren't, were they.

We're All Orange Now

Some time ago now I had a conversation on Facebook with a friend who'd just come back from the trenches on Twitter. He'd been involved in an argument about Syria, and what should be done about the situation there.

All of a sudden, he said, it hit him - he was taking to the mat an argument on a subject he knew next to nothing about.

In front of the whole world.

Well I'd forgotten about that conversation until recently when it popped up in a different form.

This time, though, his insight became my insight.

If I'm truly honest, not only do I have nothing of particular value to add to virtually any discussion about anything online, but if Twitter is any indication, neither does anybody else.

But I can comment on what it's like having a partisan troll factory for a provincial government, because that's what it's like for the people of Ontario now. Doug & the Lugs actually used public money to pay a company to produce a Conservative Party of Canada television commercial. I mean, I don't need a doctorate in Ethics to make the comment that an anti-Trudeau-government-carbon-tax commercial is political party advertising and shouldn't even be on television outside a campaign period, never mind paid for with public money.

Jesus, the future is bleak.

The Mother of All Existential Days

You know, if our mothers had had access to birth control, a lot of us probably wouldn't be here. And if my own recently deceased mother had known that her husband would die not long after my sister was born, leaving her with four children aged 9, 7, 4, and 1, I doubt any of my family would exist.

Instead she'd have become the first feminist Prime Minister of Canada.

Anyway, I used to think that the religious wanted to deny girls and women access to legal abortion services because they believed that that's what their god wanted them to do. But atheist men can be anti-choice, too, and virulently, bullying and berating feminists who dare to trespass on their superior moral and ethical terrain.

Is there anyone more right than the atheist man?

So now I think it's just ego, that some people need every conception to be brought to term because it's all about them, the world, life, everything. And so it's unthinkable to them - there's a reason why Sam Oosterhoff used that word - that girls and women can choose to abort unwanted pregnancy.

Their egos can't allow for it.

Callow Youth

I just realized this morning that I've paid some forty years more of taxes in Ontario than Sam Oosterhoff and that his life experience is less than that of any one of my three adult children.

So how arrogant, how uncaring, how unknowing is this young Master of the Universe of the much more complicated lives of girls and women that he would pledge to make "unthinkable" - with all the privilege of a legislator - the solution to, as opposed to the problem of, unwanted pregnancy.

Always these people choose to absolve boys and men of responsibility for causing the problem of unwanted pregnancy and choose instead to deny girls and women access to the solution.

Sexist bullies is what they are and other men of politics - and not just Justin Trudeau - need to start calling them out.

FFS, stop sitting back while Feminists do all the work of ensuring freedom from forced reproduction by the state.

Because It's 2019

The other day a Canadian judge said in sentencing a man who murdered a woman two days after she served him with divorce papers, "A heated argument led to the killing."

I'll Take that Knife, Mister

No one's asking but I know why men of various politics are currently using women of various politics to challenge Justin Trudeau's leadership of the Liberal Party. It's because he took away the knife they were always holding over our heads re "will they or won't they try to re-criminalize abortion" when he told prospective nominees to be pro-choice or fuck off to another party.

Men in the business of politics aren't supposed to do that to other men in the business of politics. They really like holding that knife, whether it's being used to threaten us or to play white knight, as in, we'll protect you from the knife we're holding, ladies.

#FakeFeminist is nothing but projection.

Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Hey, Lametti, Ya Bum

Be a Liberal and toss all those Harper Gang Republican imports to our justice system your predecessor left behind, please. You know what I'm talking about - mandatory minimums, consecutive sentencing, and so on and so forth and more of the same etc etc.

Then worry about how you're going to get SNC Lavalin a deferred prosecution agreement or not get it one or whatever bullshit we're supposed to pretend is the reason for bi-partisan tag-team Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott and Michelle Rempel and Lisa Raitt and Candice Bergen sabotaging Justin "diversity is our strength" Trudeau to the benefit of Andrew "white nationalist lives matter" Scheer.

Those Republican imports to our justice system are making us so stupid the CBC figures there's nothing else for it but to recriminalize abortion now.

Anyway, no one's asking but if they did, I'd say it's time to stop pretending (in more ways than one - see paragraph two) and defund the CBC. Just, burn it all down, everything we pretended was on our side, Feminists, and let the Sun boys have at 'er, the whole playground to themselves.

Because this is bullshit.

Fire. Them. All.

Too Good to Garden

So after being hilarious on social media all weekend I went outside on Monday to engage in some horticultural activity as it is suddenly summer in Ottawa.

(My Blond Companion said, "You can lead a whore to culture, but"... So I finished with, "then you wouldn't understand the sex". Badaboom)

Anyway, I'm trying to get our little front yard, which I would happily trade in to our oil and gas overlords for a basic annual income, to be more or less maintenance free. This seems to involve digging up our little lawn of crabgrass every year and replacing whatever I put down last with something less involved.

So clover it is this go 'round.

While I was digging, a couple came by because I live where there's a lot of pedestrian traffic in a not urban but not suburban, either, part of our nation's capital. So outside Vanier, which is surprisingly pricey for an area of Ottawa with the reputation of Hamilton, and in a kind of drive-thru to better places.

Anyway, they were... how can I put this so as not have you think me more of a snob than you probably do already... husky-voiced, they were husky-voiced, and had much praise and many suggestions for how to go about my duties. But the thing was, they both talked at the same time. Or almost at the same time. As soon as she would start talking, he started talking, too. And they were saying different things so I was going back and forth like crazy. Then I realized if I didn't pick one and stick to her, I'd end up telling him to stop being such a sexist prick and shut the fuck up while she's talking.

I should add that she had a raw looking bruise on her cheek where it looked like someone may have recently punched her and I have no idea if he was responsible for that action or even if that's how she got the raw looking bruise. But I combined it and the talking over and the knowing what I know, which, for whatever reason, still isn't enough to stop me from paying attention to the man, even though I want to land an axe between his eyes, and forced myself to block him out and listen to her.

Don't worry. I don't actually have an axe.

And get this, she had summer jobs as a landscaper back in the day. You know, at resorts. Well, those jobs are the most coveted of summer jobs at resorts and pretty much boys only, too.

At least, they were.

Anyway, it's hard, isn't it, to know how to behave sometimes, but she was very helpful and I feel a little further along than I did before our conversation.

And yes, I'm not talking about the lawn.

Hey Women - Fuck Off - Nobody Likes You

I've been reading a lot of articles lately about likability because there are women in the Democratic race for the nomination for president and apparently they all have a problem of likability but especially Elizabeth Warren.

Elizabeth Warren is even less likable than Hillary Clinton.

Get outta here, Elizabeth Warren. Nobody likes you even more than nobody likes Hillary Clinton.

Theories as to why we don't like Democratic women running for the nomination to be president are occasionally in the articles. One is "he's gotta be a guy ya wanna sit down and have a beer with".

Well nobody wants to sit down and have a beer with a woman, that much is obvious to anyone. And especially nobody wants to sit down and have a beer with Elizabeth Warren.

Jesus Christ the beer would probably curdle. And then blood would start pouring out her, well, I guess not even that, she's so old. But it's unthinkable just the same.

Do it. Think about sitting down and having a beer with Elizabeth Warren and see if your nethers don't shrivel up and maybe even fall off and then frogs start dropping from the sky.

(I'd suggest stronger framed glasses and longer hair and bigger breasts and going back in time and not taking advantage of a subsidy not intended to benefit her and oh never mind my vagina just dried up and blew away.)

Anyway, at first I thought maybe nobody likes politicians and it just looks like we don't like women when women are trying to get elected to public office of various and sundry. But we like men politicians. Especially if they're tall, white, and older. Then we like them so much we want them to rub us all over and kiss us and maybe even put their penis in our mouth when we're sitting down and having a beer with them.

It's true! We like Joe Biden no matter what he says or does. We just do. And who doesn't want to sit down and have a beer with Donald Trump or Ted Cruz on the other side of the great divide, too.

And Bernie Sanders. Come on. You know it. Beer/Bernie = Likable. It's only natural.

It's so natural I've stopped pretending it's everybody else and not me. Maybe you should, too.

So, because it can't be that we just don't like politicians on account of there are all these likable men politicians we want to sit down and have a beer with, I started looking around and I realized, oh my Gord, everybody doesn't like women everywhere.

My Blond Companion does a good job of faking it and for that I'm grateful but c'mon, let's face it, he doesn't "like" me. I'm a woman. How could he? And it's not his or anybody's fault, either, it's mine and women's fault.

Why?

Because women just aren't likable.

Oh my goodness that was liberating. I even felt a little fizz go up my spine. I'm going to shorten that sentence and type it again.

Women aren't likable.

Ooh. One more time.

Women aren't likable.

Okay, whoa.

I hope that was as good for you as it was for me.

Mea Culpa, Bros

I just realized something pretty big and boy is my face red.

Ready?

The bros are halfway, no, a quarter way right.

Dagnabbit, those sexist know-it-alls are a quarter way right.

Forget Russia, America made it possible for an orange mobster traitor to become POTUS. (And by forget Russia, I mean that of course Vladimir Putin helped his puppet Donald Trump become POTUS - but - he could only do that because he had so many Americans helping him along the way doing their level best to ensure Donald Trump became POTUS.)

Also, yes, the DNC made sure Hillary Clinton beat Bernie Sanders in the primary - not - because they believed she would beat Donald Trump - but - because they knew she wouldn't.

Bernie Sanders, though, was suddenly looking like he might beat Donald Trump, so it was "Holy shit, the shouty old sexist is catching on! Abort! Abort!" - because - the Democratic Party AND the deep state - wait for it - wanted Donald Trump to become POTUS.

Hence, Comey, and the last minute, "But... her other emails!"

But think back, who didn't want Donald Trump to become POTUS?

Every other traitorous criminal Republican running for the nomination. They knew what would happen. They told all of America what would happen.

Lindsay Graham: "If we nominate Donald Trump, we will get destroyed... and we will deserve it."

Holy motherfucker, eh?

Obama, the DNC, the FBI - they made sure this happened.

As an unrelated thought, I wonder what it is Bill Clinton did (and no, I don't mean anything like that groupie rock star nothing burger with Monica Lewinsky) that we'll never know about.

Hey, toss some lettuce down this rabbit hole. I might be here a while.

The Yellow Vested Snake

It's creepy, isn't it. You see the yellow vests and assume emergency workers. But the people who've co-opted this symbol of people working to restore power or some other public good are actually Conservative Party operatives deliberately spreading disinformation and sexist racist contagion in our streets.

Why isn't our media calling out this dangerous behaviour?

What's in a Name

I suggest instead of "Climate Change" politicians start referring to "Ininsurable Private Property Destruction" to get Canadians on board with electing politicians to actively encourage the massive reduction of industrial greenhouse gas emissions via regulations.

Wealthy means of production owners can live anywhere, sister and brother paupers. Their life savings aren't tied up in a postage stamp-sized bit of property in Canada. Please stop being stupid and electing Conservatives to public office. They are only interested in further privatizing our public wealth because they actually believe that rational self interest governs the behaviour of individuals.

I'd present Twitter as Exhibit A that it clearly doesn't but whatever.

A White Male Writes

Oh, you know, I didn't used to be such a big ol' beeyatch (total lie, I was born a big ol' beeyatch) but this column, which will no doubt be counted as not part of the 80% of Conservative commentary in our mainstream media, even though the first several paragraphs read like Conservative campaign literature, is being touted by my socialist friends as an important read on my Facebook feed.

Forget Bigotry - What About Climate Change?!

I don't know Stephen Maher but I know other white male reporters and in my experience their belief that they're non-partisan comes from being white and male, not from being actually non-partisan. Almost to a white man now they come across to me as Conservative. I mean, get real, Canadian media - Andrew Scheer is awful, a throwback to bigoted days gone by, as alt-Right as any of those liberal Feminist hating Proud Boys or Rebel Media stars.

He's also young enough to be my son. How dare a young white man who grew up with such freedom and privilege run for public office so he can reverse all the civil and human rights gains made by my recently deceased 95 year old mother's generation.

The Greatest Generation as Conservatives like to say when they're talking about war and not actual real freedom.

And I'm just a second wave Feminist saying this! (I've been paused here at a resting station beside a statue of Gloria Steinem for a while.)

We still don't know who funded Stephen Harper's leadership campaign, ffs, but the fact is that his first order of business once he had his majority (obtained by committing massive electoral fraud so thanks for that expose, I guess, Stephen Maher) was to destroy our gun registry.

Just like the NRA wanted done. Coincidence? Gee, maybe. But it looks to me like the NRA has some s'plainin' to do to law and order south of the border.

Honestly, I don't give a shit if Andrew Scheer develops a climate change policy or not. It's my opinion that he shouldn't be running for public office at all. But since he is, let him at least not make it easier for white males who don't seem at all bothered by his anti-civil-and-human-rights stances to vote for him because he manages to pull a climate change policy out of Hamish Marshall's ass at the last minute.

Jesus Christ. Such madness, eh? Scheer fucking madness.
