No Reason for Short People

Not on the Otrain.

Why?

Because there are no straps for women of average height (so most women and more than a few men) to hold onto for stability.

And yet there's a brand new station at Cyrville - and the train makes a stop - even though no one ever got on or off the bus at Cyrville. And no one will ever get on or off the Otrain at Cyrville, either.

No woman, anyway.

Meanwhile, light rail stops a whole suburb before where all the eastbound traffic into downtown comes from.

Also, there's a point in the ride east where the train really strains to navigate a curve. It's unnerving now so imagine how unnerving it will be in an ice storm.

Oh, and the cars smell. Sure, Mayor Watson will say it's us, but it isn't. It's the cars. They smell.

  1. Very funny. I actually hurt my arm stretching to grip the bar that My Blond Companion was quite comfortable resting his arm on. So I gripped his lapels instead. Men are going to have to get used to a fair bit of grabbing on the Otrain I guess.
